Muizenberg - General Description

Muizenberg is situated 20 minutes outside of Cape Town City Centre on the False Bay coast line. Muizenberg has fine examples of grand Victorian architecture, and was originally an exclusive Seaside Resort for the rich and famous. Many of the properties in the area are in need of an upgrade, but you will find apartments and very comfortable family homes, with well established gardens and views over the ocean. Muizenberg - Schools

Muizenberg has Muizenberg Junior School and Muizenberg High School. Muizenberg has many colleges, Mac Train Media College, South Peninsula College and George Whitefield College. Muizenberg also has one of the best Surf Schools in the Cape, Gary’s Surf School.

Muizenberg - Amenities

The beach in Muizenberg stretches for 36km, and is on the India Ocean where the waves are smaller and the water is much warmer, making it ideal for families and novice surfers. Behind the beach you will find a putt-putt coarse and super tube (waterslide). For the bird lovers there is the Zandvlei Bird Sanctuary and the Zandvlei Lagoon is offers many water sports activities ranging from canoeing, windsurfing, sailing and fresh water fishing. There are many museums in the area and the Masque Theatre. The Muizenberg flea market is held every Sunday and makes for an interesting bargain hunt.

Muizenberg has the typical Cape weather, hot in the summer months and wet and cold in the winter, with the Cape winds blowing on occasion, in winter and summer.
