Until recently UK tourist visas were not required by South Africans visiting the UK but changes in the UK visa law have now seen an end to the days when South Africans could freely enter the UK.

The reason for this new legislation is the UK’s visa department investigation into the control and issue of South African passports.

Over a period of time they investigated the amount of fraudulent entries into the UK holders of South African passports (which had obtained falsely) and this amounted to several thousand.

In light of this and the South African Home Affairs department not being able to make sufficient progress the UK Tourist visa was introduced for all South Africans traveling to the UK.
