Whilst the final arrangements for the UK Youth Mobility Scheme (Tier 5 Visa) have yet to be announced the below links will provide you with some background as to the likely considerations, we will continue to update our site as more information becomes available.
The Youth Mobility Scheme is being introduced as part of an overhaul of the UK visa system. In attempts to streamline the process, UK visas will operate on a 5 tier basis, each tiers replacing existing visa categories.
If your country is not participating in the scheme you will be ineligible for the Tier 5 visa and need to ascertain whether you can make an application under a different visa category. Please see here for other options.
The certificate is issued by your country of citizenship and provides an assurance to the UK that you will abide by the terms of the Youth Mobility Scheme.
Other criteria will include:
The need for a valid passport from a country with a deemed sponsorship status; or
A valid national passport of a country that meets the qualifying criteria for the youth mobility scheme and have been issued a certificate of sponsorship by that country; or
you can show you are a British overseas citizen, British overseas territories citizen or British national (overseas). If you fall into this category, you will not need any formal sponsorship.
Individuals who have already had a UK visa issued under the working holiday visa category are unable to apply under the UK Youth Mobility Scheme (Tier 5 Visa).
Spouses and partners wishing to accompany applicants for the UK Youth Mobility (Tier 5 Visa) must make separate applications and meet the prevailing criteria. These applications can be made under any of the categories where they may meet the criteria.
