The holder of a business visa is entitled to enter South Africa and work, attend meetings, make contacts etc but not undertake any business activity where the said holder gets paid in South Africa.
Business visas are ideal for business people, temporary employees on assignment or training, musicians, actors, models and sport players to enable them to carry out there profession legally whilst on assignment in South Africa.

A business visa is basically a tourist visa which is endorsed to allow for the holder to carry out the afore mentioned activities.
How do you get a business visa?
In order to secure a business visa an application must be made either prior to entry into South Africa or on arrival.
Applications on arrival (at the airport) can be made only by citizens of countries that do not require a tourist visa prior to arrival in South Africa. The supporting documentation must be produced at the airport in this instance.
Applications made prior to arrival need to be submitted, with all supporting documentation, at the local South African High commission or consulate.
Can I get an extension to my business visa?
Extensions can be applied for to the business permit, to pro long someone's stay in South Africa, but please note extensions can only be made on the same type of visa – for example a visitors visa can not be extended and transferred to a business visa.
