We establish which route you qualify for, help you gather the evidence, prepare your case, accompany you at submission at the VFS centres in Cape Town, Pretoria and Johannesburg, and follow the application through to an outcome. For a bank account, medical aid, tax number, school place, or home, we introduce you to independent professionals we have worked with for years.
A visa lets you into the country. It does not get you settled.
You have a named client manager and a dedicated file administrator, so you do not have to explain your circumstances again each time you call. Several client managers have been with Intergate for more than a decade. We keep your file in a purpose-built case management system.

What has Intergate done since 2005?
Intergate began as an immigration advisory business and grew into a relocation firm, because clients kept arriving with a valid visa and no idea how to open a bank account.
Our team includes client managers who handle a case from first call to outcome, senior administrators who prepare document sets, submissions coordinators in Cape Town and Johannesburg who meet clients at appointments, and a systems compliance manager who looks after client data security. We work in English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Afrikaans.
Why doesn't Intergate stop at the visa?
A bank wants proof of address. A landlord wants a bank reference. A medical aid wants a South African bank account for the debit order. A school wants an enrolment deposit and an address in its catchment. An employer wants a tax number. Each one is waiting on another, and none of it is governed by the Immigration Act.
We introduce you to accountants, brokers, conveyancers, and education consultants we have worked with on client files. Some introductions are through formal, contracted partnerships. Others are referrals based on years of working together. Ask us which applies to anyone we introduce you to.
Intergate Immigration is an immigration consultancy, not a financial services provider. For regulated services such as banking, medical aid, insurance, foreign exchange, tax, or investment, we introduce you to a provider authorised in its own right. They give the advice. You can choose your own bank, broker, accountant, or attorney without affecting the immigration service we provide.
What does Intergate work on?
Intergate works across the full statutory range of South African temporary and permanent residence, citizenship by naturalisation and by descent, and the relocation that follows.
- Temporary residence. Critical skills work, general work, intra-company transfer, corporate, remote work, business, study, visitor (short and long term), spousal and accompanying spousal, life partner, and relative's visas.
- Permanent residence and long-term status. Applications under Sections 26 and 27 of the Immigration Act 13 of 2002, including employment, extraordinary skills, business, retirement, financially independent and first-step-relative routes, and the path to citizenship that follows.
- South African citizenship. Naturalisation under the South African Citizenship Act 88 of 1995 once the permanent residence requirement is met, and citizenship by descent for children born abroad to a South African parent.
- Employers and corporates. Route selection across critical skills, general work, intra-company transfer and corporate visa options; the compliance evidence Home Affairs requires from a sponsoring employer; and coordination across multiple employees and their families at once.
- The region. Work and business visas for Botswana and Namibia, through established immigration partners in those countries.
- The relocation. Banking, medical aid, tax registration and company structure, foreign exchange, property, schooling and insurance, each through an appropriately authorised independent professional.
The general work and critical skills routes moved to a 100-point eligibility test on 18 October 2024. Monetary thresholds are set by Government Gazette. We confirm the current requirements for your circumstances at consultation.
